Our Brilliant first week of Term 4!
We have had an enjoyable first week back, as well as
submitting our 500 words stories to the BBC competition we have also been making
clay pots in art, we have been re-enacting Ancient Greek Myths through drama
including Thesus and the Minatour and we can also talk about the weather in
French.
In English, we have been learning about different sentence
types also different types of nouns. One Orion classmate said “I didn’t realise
how many different types of nouns there were!” “For example compound, proper,
common, abstract and collective nouns.” We gave our learning a big thumbs up!
In Maths, we have been enjoying finishing our learning about
long multiplication, we have been focusing on multiplying 4 digit numbers by 2
digit numbers using the column method. Our teacher has been so proud of how we
have been learning and we are ready for the challenge of division next week!
This week we have had some more superstars completing their
Maths challenges, we had five of them in fact! Our teachers were amazed!
This week, we have been investigating marvellous materials in
Science, we have been learning how materials and mixtures are separated in the classroom
and in real life. We are looking forward to separating our own mixtures next week
and being really careful to ensure that we have a fair experiment.
We hope you have enjoyed reading our blog this week,
Orion Class
